Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) and Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) were at the top of the rankings in most of the free practice sessions in KZ. Several drivers took turns leading the qualifying session before the hierarchy stabilized somewhat, with Simo Puhakka (CRG / Maxter) leading ahead of Ardigo, Patrik Hajek (Formula K / Parilla) and Jérémy Iglesias (Sodi / TM). But finally Flavio Camponeschi (Tony Kart / Vortex) took pole – 51”828 – 7 thousandths ahead of Puhakka. Jorrit Pex (Intrepid / TM) finished 6th, Arnaud Kozlinski (Sodi / TM) 7th and Abbasse 10th. There was also disappointment for Ben Hanley (Croc Promotions / TM) who as 18th, but with only 19 participants, qualifying practice, like the heats, is less significant.
