The French driver Thomas Nouet set the fastest time of the first Academy Trophy qualifying session with 1’05”033, 0.261 ” faster than the 2nd, the Spaniard Alejandro Lopez Lahoz. The Briton Callum Bradshaw finished 3rd, Spaniard Xavier Lloveras Brunet 4th and Britain’s Alfie Brown 5th. There was big disappointment for the French driver Enzo Coursimault who retired with an engine failure before he could complete a lap. The second session didn’t improve on this, as its leader, the Japanese Aruga Tomita was credited with 1’05”316, ahead of the South African Stuart White, the Spanish Marta Garcia Lopez in 3rd, the Ukrainian Illya Zamula 4th and the Dutchman Dylan Buys in 5th.
Overall, the top five of the first session are in the top five places, Nouet the poleman ahead of Lahoz, Brandshaw, Lloveras and Brown. Tomita is 6th ahead of White, the Norwegian Emil Heyerdahl 8th, the Russian Zakahr Slutskiy 9th and the Dutchman Glenn Van Berlo 10th.
