Christian Lundgaard (Tony Kart / Vortex) quickly took the lead in the first qualifying session in KF-Junior on Friday at La Conca, at the 2nd round of the WSK Champions Cup. On a dry track, with very overcast conditions and temperatures above 10°, Ivan Shvetsov (Tony Kart / Vortex) was in 2nd place before being dislodged by Kenny Roosens (Kosmic / Parilla). However Clement Novalak (Tony Kart / Vortex) posted the second fastest time, 34 thousandths behind Lundgaard who achieved a lap of 47”657. Bard Verkroost (CRG / TM) was third by 54 thousandths with Roosens 4th and Shvestov 5th. Petr Ptacek (Energy / TM) finished 8th and Jean-Baptiste Simmenauer (Tony Kart / Vortex) 10th.
Lorenzo Colombo (Tony Kart / LKE) was the first to go below 48” in the second session, ahead of Charles Milesi (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Konsta Lappalainen (Tony Kart / Vortex). Colombo improved on Davide Lombardo (Exprit / Vortex) who was following by 2/10, but Logan Sargeant (FA Kart / Vortex) got as close as 1 tenth from the leader before Noah Watt (FA Kart / Vortex) finally came within a thousandth of pole in the groupe and the category which went to Colombo, with 47”467. Sargeant finished 3rd, Presley Martono 4th and Lombardo (Tony Kart / Vortex) 5th.
As always in WSK, the ranking alternates the positions from each series, with Colombo taking first place from Lundgaard.
