RB Racing management is pleased to announce the arrival of Richard Verschoor, the 14 year old Dutch driver born in Benschop in December 2000, who will be part of the kart racing team in the KF category, being one of the youngest in this class. The agonistic program will include the main WSK events, the CIK-FIA European Championship and the World Championship, that will take place in Italy in Muro Leccese, besides racing the Euro Challenge Rotax with the support of the TKP team. In his passage to RB Racing, Richard will be also followed by his coach Mats van den Brand, who will be part of technical staff of the Swiss team.
In 2014 Richard caught the attention for winning the FIA Academy Championship, but also for achieving important results in the Rotax Series, conquering the 6th place at the Grand Finals in Valencia, the 2nd place in the Euro Challenge and winning the Dutch Championship. Verschoor will use the proven and winning couple Exprit-Vortex, with engines provided by One Engines, the structure managed by Ole Haugård with whom RB renewed the collaboration agreement for the next season. The contract between Verschoor and RB Racing includes one year in international karting and the passage to Formula 4 in 2016, always with the RB colors.
So Marco Angeletti commented the agreement: “We are very happy to welcome Richard in our team, as we consider him a driver with high potentialities and able to play an important role in the KF class, in spite of his young age. Mats van den Brand made an excellent job with him and we are sure that his formation inside our team towards car races can give him a further positive motivation. This aspect, the one of creating a path towards the Formula 4, is part of the RB Racing project, that extends his operating area from karts to cars“.
