Rainfall hasn’t stopped since Friday night on the Kartodromo Lucas Guerrero Chiva, near Valencia. The track is mostly soggy for the prefinals of the Rotax Grand Finals of 2014. The juniors had a 30′ delay, during which time the karts were waiting on the grid, while the drivers took shelter. The starting procedure was finally launched at 10:40.
Thomas Preining made the best start ahead of Rokas Baciuska, but many incidents disrupted the ranking, due to the lack of grip and visibility. Juri Vips took the lead before the red flag which interrupted the race on the first lap. Marshals were sweeping to remove the puddles, the rain stopped at around 11:00 am, and the officials did a lap of the track on foot to assess the situation.
A new start was announced for 11:30.
The Junior Prefinal was permanently canceled. It has been replaced by the Junior final, scheduled to start at 12:00. It will be the same for each category.
