Ryan Van der Burgt (DR / TM) was quick to take the advantage from Menno Paauwe (Birel / TM) in the final of the KZ2 International Super Cup, with Lorenzo Camplese (Maranello / TM) in 3rd place ahead of Andreas Hansen ( Tony Kart / Vortex), Jorge Pescador (Praga / Parilla) and Loris Spinelli (CRG / Maxter). Andrea Dale, Jan Midrla and Marco Zanchetta had already retired, and Fabian Federer found himself at the back. Pescador attacked Hansen for 4th place. On lap 6 Camplese passed Paauwe who was beginning to struggle with his worn tyres. Spinelli and Luca Tilloca (Intrepid / Modena) then passed Pescador. Thomas Laurent (Tony Kart / Vortex) made a great start to the race in 15th position, with 14 places already gained.
At the halfway point, Van der Burgt led by 6 tenths ahead of Camplese, followed at 4/10 by Paauwe. In fourth position, Spinelli was 1.5′ from the lead group. Camplese gradually narrowed the gap with Van der Burgt while Paauwe lost a few lengths. Francesco Celenta (Energy / TM) made one of the biggest recoveries from way back to the top five after starting from 18th position on the grid. Tilloca, in 4th, was very fast, but the podium was still a stretch with three laps left.
Van der Burgt still held Camplese off perfectly with two laps to go and a lead of 3/10, even though the Italian was slightly faster. Van der Burgt used all his strength to keep the lead place and Camplese could do nothing against him on the last lap. The Dutchman Ryan Van der Burgt won the second KZ2 International Super Cup at Sarno driving his DR-TM. Paauwe retained his third place ahead of Tilloca, Celenta in 5th, Hansen 6th, Pescador 7th, Fasberg 8th, Hiltbrand 9th and Davies 10th. The French driver in the race, Laurent, finished 14th.
