In the first qualifying session for the Super Cup CIK-FIA KZ2 at Sarno, the battle raged between Sam Webster (ART GP / TM), Federico Pezzola (Intrepid / TM), Pasquale Feola (Rosso Korsa / TM), Paolo Besancenez (Alpha / Parilla) and Enrico Bernadotto (Maranello / TM) before Loris Spinelli (CRG / Maxter) posted a lap of 1’05”829 two minutes before the end. Webster stayed second, Bernadotto third, and Xen De Ruwe (Intrepid / TM) went fourth on the wire ahead of Pezzola. Besancenez ranked seventh by 392 thousandths.
In session 2, Andrea Dalè (CRG / Maxter) was quick to take the lead in front of Luca Tilloca (Intrepid / Modena), Matteo Vigano (Top Kart / Parilla), Zdenek Groman (ART GP / TM) and Menno Paauwe (Birel / TM). Giacomo Pollini (CKR / TM) took over the controls at the end, but Dalè was not to be impressed and took the pole position, but then Pollini finished as leader – with 1’05”878 – ahead of the European Champion. Francesco Celenta (Energy / TM) took 3rd, Paauwe 4th, Tilloca 5th, and Charles Kenny (Kosmic / Vortex) 6th. Pierre Bourgeois (ART GP / TM) finished 17th ahead of Thomas Maingre (Alpha / TM), while Antoine Bottiroli (GP / TM) didn’t complete a lap.
Thomas Laurent (Tony Kart / Vortex) headed the table in the third session with Maik Siebecke (CRG / Modena) not far behind, then Stan Pex (CRG / TM). Alberto Cavalieri (GP / Modena) and Joey Wimsett (CRG / Maxter) made up the initial top five. Nicolas Gonzales (Alpha / Maxter) took 2nd in the approach to the finish, and then Jan Midrla (Birel / TM) – 1’06”004 – passed the two French drivers, and it ended up with Gonzales 2nd, Siebecke 3rd, Laurent 4th, and Wimsett 5th. Pex had to be content with 9th place. Charly Bizalion (Alpha / TM) finished with 19th.
Fabian Federer (CRG / Maxter) and Lorenzo Camplese (Maranello / TM) were neck and neck in the fourth and final session, Luca Corberi (Tony Kart / Vortex), Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / Maxter), Alexandre Arrue (Praga / Parilla) and Ryan Van Der Burgt (DR / TM) were close. Camplese took control, but Jorge Pescador (Praga / Parilla) prevailed not only in this session, but also in the overall standings with a time of 1’05”818 on the last lap. Camplese was 2nd, Federer 3rd, Hiltbrand 4th and Arrue 5th.
Pescador therefore took pole in KZ2 ahead of Spinelli, Camplese, Pollono and Federer. Hiltbrand was 6th, Arrue 7th, Dalè 8th, Midrla 9th and Van der Burgt 10th. Of the French drivers, Gonzales took 11th position, Laurent 15th and Besancenez 25th
