The teach was wet, but it wasn’t raining for the first KF qualifying session at La Conca. Tom Joyner (Zanardi / Parilla), Egor Stupenkov (Energy / TM), Karol Basz (Tony Kart / Vortex) and the Norris brothers, Lando and Ollie (FA Kart / Vortex) enlivened the session and pole went to the eldest Norris, Ollie, with a lap of 1’11” 292, ahead of his younger brother Lando, surprisingly fast in the wet for a small driver. Basz took 3rd place ahead of Tuomas Tujula (ART GP / TM) and Martijn Van Leeuwen (Zanardi / Parilla).
The track dried slightly for the second group, and the times dropped significantly. Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / TM), Nikita Mazepin (Tony Kart / Vortex), Callum Ilott (Zanardi / Parilla) and Joel Johansson (Praga / Parilla) quickly took up the top of the table, although the situation was changing with every lap. Hannes Janker (Zanardi / Parilla) and Kevin Lavelli (Top Kart / Parilla) then rose to the head of the standings. Janker also took pole for the class, 1’07” 778, 4/10 ahead of Kevin Rossel (Tony Kart / TM) and two drivers from Ward Racing, Nikita Troickiy and Alexei Korneev (Tony Kart / Vortex) with Lorandi 5th.
Significant differences between the two groups, 3 and a half seconds to the leaders, which of course required the application of the 101% rule, which alternated the order of the second group with that of the first for the 41 drivers competing.
