As the days begin to lengthen, the 2014 season is gradually taking shape. The teams are now complete and began testing in the past few weeks. It is all about looking forward to find out about the new talents in the first events of the year, a period that is always exciting.
The international Rotax classes will be under the spotlight with the arrival of several factory teams and drivers. This may not be good news for the fans and private teams, especially as the CIK categories will soon be out at the opening event, the legendary Winter Cup. This trend is not surprising as no major change will alter the landscape of karting within the next two years. Research into replacing KF engines is going well, the tests are, it seems, convincing, but nothing will be released until 2016.
In the meantime, one-make series and cups have further strengthened their brand presence at the national and regional levels, and the important thing is that everyone can find the option that suits them to fulfil their passion within their means. In France, the NSK Stars of Karting series complements the national offering. It is hoped that the choice of new tyres for National and KZ 125 will enhance their appeal to fans.
