Cristiano Morgado (RSA) didn’t missed the start of the final in DD2 Masters, but Fernando Guzzi (BRA) soon overtook after the first lap and others benefited. Alan Rudolph (USA) passed for second and Daniel Richert (AUS) third. Christophe Adams (FRA) didn’t get round the first lap but Guillaume Berteaux (FRA) moved up to ninth. Rudolph left the track, Richert took the lead ahead of Guzzi who quickly returned to the attack. Morgado was third in their wake. Adam Hunter (AUS) returned to fourth ahead of Scott Campbell (CAN), Tiago Ribeiro (POR) and Guillaume Berteaux. The top four were elbow to elbow. Morgado took second by 4 tenths behind Guzzi. The battle intensified, Guzzi and Hunter left gaps in a difficult corner. Morgado took the opportunity to gain a few tenths ahead Richert, Campbell and Ribeiro. Derek Wang (USA) was fifth, ahead of Marc Berteaux (FRA) who was followed by Martin Pierce (IRL). The fight for victory was between Morgado, Richert and Campbell with Ribeiro isolated in fourth position. Berteaux took advantage of Wang for 5th place. With four laps to go, the top three were still tight. Richert attempted an attack that failed, Campbell tries to take advantage of it, but that didn’t work either at the moment. Meanwhile, Morgado took off. Martin Pierce overtook Berteaux for 5th place. The battle for 2nd place took all the attention. Richert overtook Campbell at the last corner and he didn’t seem to appreciate the maneuver. “It was controversial!” commented our Canadian friends. Morgado’s victory was not under debate. Ribeiro finished fourth, Pierce 5th, Guzzi 6th. Michael Dauphin (FRA) was the top French driver in 17th position.
