After a mad start, Tom Harvey (GBR) took the lead in the Junior final against Juan Correa (USA), Ralf Aron (EST), Brett Ward (GBR) and Guan Yu Zhou (GBR). Behind Harvey who was well ahead, the battle is between four drivers, the rest of the pack already being several seconds behind. Harvey was not the fastest, but his pursuers were too preoccupied with their internal struggle to give chase effectively. Robbie Gallier (GBR) was in sixth position ahead of Luke Selliken (USA) and Thomas Issa (JAM).
Apart from Zhou passing Aron, the positions changed little in mid-race. Harvey, leading by 2” from Ward and then Correa. Kyle Kirkwood (USA) was back in 12th place. Harvey’s lead began to melt under pressure from Ward who was still leading the chasing group. He was less than a second ahead with 3 laps to go. Everything would be decided on the last lap between five furious drivers. Harvey was forced aside, Correa crossed the line as the winner ahead of Ward and Zhou. Aron finished 4th, Harvey 5th.
