Wins for Rudolph and Hunter, Rudolph leads
The sun was back for DD2 Masters heat A / D, but the track was very slippery. Alan Rudolph (USA) took the lead ahead of Derek Wang (USA), and Martin Victorsson (SWE) in third from Martin Pierce (IRL) and Marc Berteaux (FRA), while Guillaume Berteaux (FRA) was in seventh position. Pierce dropped to eighth, but Fernando Guzzi (BRA) gained 4th. The gap was widening rapidly and overtaking was rare. Rudolph won the race 5” ahead of Wang and Victorsson who finished 3rd, Guzzi 4th, William Berteaux went fifth from Daniel Richert (AUS) and Mark Berteaux seventh, Martin Pierce was eighth. Morgan Hipp (FRA) finally finished 20th.
Adam Hunter (AUS) escaped quickly in the heat B / C run in sunshine but on rain tyres for almost all drivers. Cristiano Morgado (RSA) was in second place. Scott Campbell (CAN) passed Michael Dauphin (FRA) for 4th place, Christophe Adams (FRA) moved up to 7th. Campbell attacked Morgado, Stuart Clark (CAN) and Tiago Ribeiro (POR) overtook Dauphin. Morgado then succumbed to Clark. Campbell returned to the leader and took first position on lap 8. Hunter took control and won the race ahead of Campbell, Ribeiro in 3rd, Dauphin 4th, Morgado 5th, Clark 6th then Adams.
Alan Rudolph, undefeated, took the lead in DD2 Masters after the qualifying heats ahead of Cristiano Morgado, Tiego Ribeiro was third, Fernando Guzzi 4th and Christophe Adams 5th.
