Armand Convers (Kosmic / Vortex ) was finally allowed to take to the track on Sunday morning. The advantage he might obtain from his less worn tyres would not offset his place in the last row. Max Verstappen (CRG / TM ) and Tom Joyner (Zanardi / TM) were on the front row of pre-final 1.
With an impeccable start, Verstappen was ahead of Jordon Lennox -Lamb (CRG / BMB ), 3rd Andreas Hansen (Tony Kart / Vortex ), and 4th Ben Hanley ( ART GP / TM). Verstappen got away, and others fell off. Hansen took second from Hanley. George Russell (Tony Kart / TM) moved up to sixth ahead of Ben Barnicoat ( ART GP / TM). The battle is always hot in the pack for qualification. Convers had moved up to 21st from 26th. Lennox dropped to last place on lap 4.
At halfway Verstappen was more than two seconds ahead of Hanley, Joyner and Hansen. Barnicoat was 5th place from Russell. The French driver Paolo Besancenez (Tony Kart / TM) was running in around 12th position, while Convers approached 17th. A group of seven drivers fought for 3rd place. Verstappen continued to insolently put in fastest laps. Behind Hanley, Joyner was leading the hunt followed by Barnicoat, Hansen, Andrea Russo (Kosmic / Vortex), Egor Stupenkov (Energy / TM) and Pedro Hiltbrand (LH / TM). Convers entered the qualified positions.
It was a clear and flawless victory for Verstappen from Hanley and Joyner. Russell finished ninth, Besancenez 12th, Convers 17th. Lennox -Lamb didn’t qualify.
