The European Championship is definitely not the competition where Dorian Boccolacci has achieved his best results so far. Though he was always among the fastest drivers in KF3 during the two previous years, each time his winning march was hampered by a series of problems. In a way, this is what happened this year too in KF, on the Italian circuit of Ortona. Though he had not one of the fastest karts at the beginning of the meeting, this young driver’s determination to win led him to take risks that not always paid off. It must be said that all the races were particularly hard fought and marked by several accidents, and that it was necessary to impose oneself not to be attacked on all the fronts.
Dorian was pushed on several occasions already in the first qualifying heat and could not remain in the lead pack. Dust that accumulated off the course made the situation even worse. Then, the Energy-TM official driver succeeded in taking second place in his pre-final. In the final, race start was again very nervous and Dorian lost several places before being able to fully exploit his speed to regain ground by raising his pace lap after lap. But his gap to the leaders was too big and he had to make do with a 4th place. Due to this result he could not improve his 6th place in the European Championship, despite the few points that separated him from the drivers who preceded him.
At the end of the competition, Dorian could not conceal his great disappointment, but it was already time to draw some lessons from what had happened, both to manage more effectively future races and to prepare at best for the forthcoming World Championship.
