Though Riccardo Negro still represents DR Racing official team’s best victory chances, the Norwegian Emil Antonsen and the Russian Kim Maxim showed significant progress in their results during the WSK Euro Series at Zuera, in particular with a heat victory in KZ2 for the former and an excellent performance in the pre-final for the latter.
DR Racing’s development work continued at a good pace in KZ2. For example, management of Bridgestone tyres improved a lot in the two racing days, considering that Negro and Antonsen were in second and third place on Sunday, after the qualifying phase. The two team mates even engaged in an exciting duel for the lead in the first heat, where the winner was Antonsen. Negro reclaimed his leadership in the final to take again the second step of the podium, while Antonsen entered the top 5.
In KF, Kim Maxim – who was also behind the wheel of a DR kart powered by a TM engine – arrived at Zuera following hot on the heels on his good 7th place at the Margutti Trophy. Competitors were tougher in WSK, but still and all the young Russian showed some excellent performances, as witnessed by his 4th place in one of the heats, and he climbed up brilliantly from 26th to 15th place in the pre-final. He started strong in the final and was 10th already on the second lap, but then he was hit, and was forced to stop without an opportunity to show his full potential. Meanwhile, the young Romanian driver Alexandra Marinescu, who has recently arrived from 60 Mini, continues her training in KFJ to learn as much as possible from the best specialists.
