Contrary to what one might have feared, both prefinals in KFJ went very smoothly, especially at the starts. Maybe the many sanctions handed out have begun to take effect?
Lando Norris (FA Kart / Vortex) won Prefinal A with the fastest time and 3.7” ahead of Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / Vortex), so the young Brit is in good form! Dan Ticktum (FA Kart / Vortex) completed the top three. Julien Darras (Tony Kart / Parilla) had his best performance of the weekend recovering to 7th. Leonardo Lorandi (Tony Kart / Vortex) was in difficulty at the beginning of the race, yet managed to get to 15th place. Arthur Lehouck just failed with 18th place.
In Prefinal B, Leonardo Pulcini (Tony Kart / Vortex) withstood Tom Bale (FA Kart / Vortex) while Gabriel Aubry drove a great race in third position. Max Defourny (Kosmic / TM) carried out his mission perfectly with a big rise from 29th to 9th place! Victim of contact at the first hairpin, Jehan Daruvala (FA Kart / Vortex) made up a lot of ground thereafter and finished 10th. The American Devlin DeFrancesco (CRG / Vortex), narrowly saved his qualification by finishing 17th.
