A 13 year old young driver from Canada, Devlin DeFrancesco already has a track record and an enviable reputation in America. Canadian Vice-Champion, 3rd in the United States Championship, he also participated in the WSK Master Series in the 60 Mini category in 2012 with a strong fourth place in the championship.
This season, he will again divide his time between America and Europe while racing in juniors. The first rounds of the 2013 Florida Winter Tour have already been run with excellent results: 5th and 6th places in TaG Junior, 3rd and 5th place in Rotax Junior, held the following week on the same circuit at Palm Beach.
“But KFJ is my favourite!” explained young Devlin enthusiastically. “There’s more power, more grip, the KFJ is more fun! And I have also received advice from Jordon Lennox-Lamb, which helps me a lot!“
At the wheel of his CRG, his favorite brand, with a Vortex engine, he competed at the weekend at La Conca during the opening round of the WSK Master Series, which was his first race in this category. Trained in the school of 60 Mini, Devlin was not disoriented by fighting in the pack, even though there was too many clashes to demonstrate its potential. He was unable to complete a single lap during the whole of the qualifying heats! He is a fast driver but he needs to gain consistency. His promsing performance on the stopwatch was stopped by a collision in the prefinal which eliminated him from the competition.
Although upset at the time, Devlin quickly regained his composure to focus on a season that is looking busy. Committed in the United States to the Florida Winter Tour in Miami, he will not participate in the Winter Cup in Lonato this year, but he will be in Europe very soon to continue driving his KFJ.
