Though CRG missed out on the world KF1 title, all team drivers showed excellent performances at Macao to end on a high note a highly successful 2012 season. The British driver Tom Joyner, who drove a LH chassis manufactured by CRG, simply won the 4 races of the meeting. The overall outcome is definitely satisfactory for CRG.
While Joyner dominated in the lead, CRG drivers also performed strongly. Motorised with the formidable BMB engines by engine preparer KVS, Felice Tiene, Jordon Lennox-Lamb, Davide Forè, and Eddy Tinini put their stamp on the competition. Unfortunately Tiene lost his chances to fight for the title after a collision with his team mate Forè already in the first of the 4 races, but on the first day Max Verstappen set the pole in timed qualifying behind the wheel of a CRG equipped with a TM engine and took the second step of the podium, while Lennox-Lamb moved up from 10th to 3rd in Race 2. Tiene and Forè made some remarkable recoveries, too.
On the second day, Tiene fought hard to stay up in the pack and took a third and then a second place that allowed him to secure the third place in the World Championship. Lennox-Lamb ranked 4th but had to give up owing to some tyre problems towards the end, while Forè climbed up from 28th to 7th. 4th in timed qualifying, Eddy Tinini put in some noteworthy performances; he was very fast at the start of the race and took two brilliant 9th places. Verstappen had a series of mishaps.
The 2012 World KF1 Championship ended in beauty for CRG, with Joyner as Vice Champion, Tiene 3rd, Lennox-Lamb 5th, Forè 6th, and Verstappen 8th, i.e. 5 CRG Group chassis in the first 8 places of this world competition.
