It rained at PFI on Thursday morning for free practice for the last European Championship, after a long dry period during which drivers walked some of the English track in preparation. Non-qualifying testing started in the afternoon on a grippier track, completely dry even for the final sessions.
In KF2, Benjamin Barnicoat (ART GP / Parilla) set the fastest time of the day with 54” 504, but Max Verstappen (Intrepid / TM), Nicklas Nielsen (Kosmic / Vortex), Flavio Camponeschi (Tony Kart / Vortex) Vasiliy Roumanov (Energy / Parilla) and Damiano Fioravanti (Tony Kart / Vortex) were also around that pace. Charles Leclerc (ART GP / Parilla) was not very happy with the performance of his equipment, Felice Tiene experienced trouble in the last session, Anthoine Hubert was the fastest of the French, near the top.
In KF3, the best performer was George Russell (Intrepid / Vortex) in 55” 872. Callum Ilott (Zanardi / Parilla), Nathan Aston (Intrepid / TM), Niko Kari (Tony Kart / Vortex), Jamie Caroline (Intrepid / TM), Martin Kodric (FA Kart / Vortex), were shown to be very fast.
The rain would begin to fall at the end of the sessions on track to prepare for a very British evening in the warm atmosphere of the pubs.
