Julien Poncelet (ART GP / TM) took off from the lights in the KZ2 prefinal, on Sunday at the Angerville GPO event. Maxim Roy (Tony Kart / TM) drove a few good laps to get back in touch. Charles Fiault (Sodi / Maxter) had very good pace and took third ahead of Pierre Ragues (Sodi / Maxter) and Laurent Marchandise (CRG / Maxter).
From the 6th lap, Roy returned to Poncelet’s bumper and Fiault was close enough to seize every possible opportunity. But Poncelet was not an easy driver to ovetake. Roy attacked anyway, Poncelet tried to defend but had to give way, then Fiault arrived on the scene and there was contact and airborne karts. Ragues took third place, but retired shortly after. Marchandise spun.
Roy won the race by more than 2 seconds ahead of Fiault and Poncelet.
