Marco Zanchetta had the best start in the KZ2 Final 1 on Saturday at Muro Leccesse in the WSK Master Series. He faced threats from Jan Midrla (Birel / TM) for a good half of the race before he could get more and more comfortable in front.
Meanwhile, Jordon Lennox-Lamb (CRG / Maxter) quickly recovered: starting 12th, he was already in fourth position, behind Dylan Davies (PCR / TM) and well before halfway he passed into third. Although starting well, Francesco Celenta (Birel / TM) then lost ground. Simas Juodvirsis (Energy / TM) took advantage of Davies to take fourth position while the list of retirees stretched significantly.
At the end of the race, the differences were reduced between the three leading men, Zanchetta, Midrla and Lennox-Lamb. After the fastest lap and a great recovery, the British driver took possession of second place on the last lap at the expense of the Czech, leaving a well deserved victory to the Italian Zanchetta.
