The qualifying for the ERDF Kart Masters in the Junior category was done similarly to Super Pole: one driver on the track at a time, an out lap and two timed laps. Charles Leclerc had fully learned the rules of the exercise, warming up his tyres when he entered the track. He opened the scoring with a time of 31”764, which would have already taken pole position and the second lap improved to 31”654.
It was not until Esteban Ocon and Florian Latorre at the very end of the session that there was a time approaching that of Leclerc. Ocon was second with 31”831 and Latorre the third with 31”972, with the best second sector.
The rest of the pack was running more than 2 / 10 off third, or 0.55 off pole for the fourth placed Callan O’Keeffe. Anthoine Hubert took 5th place by 2 / 100 from O’Keeffe, Dennis Olsen was 6th, George Russell 7th, Dorian Boccolacci 8th, Paolo Besancenez 9th and Lance Stroll 10th.
