Again the winner of a heat on Sunday morning in the rain, the British driver Matthew Graham, second in the U18 World Championship, was first in the intermediate at Sarno, before the fast Dutch driver Dave Blom driving a Intrepid with Formula K graphics.
Impressive on a wet track, the Spaniard Jorge Vinolo Zalduegui (Tecno) was third in front of the Finnish driver Tomi Katajamäki (Maranello), who was not slow either in the rain. Two Sodis followed in 5th and 6th positions, Anthoine Hubert and Henry Easthope. Note the good performance of Raquel Martinez (Top Kart), the top female, very comfortable in the morning, in 11th.
The championship leader, Pyry Ovaska (Maranello) would start from 14th position, the question remained whether this would be an advantage for him in the second pre-final with the grid reversed. Leo Roussel (Sodi) was 24th, despite a lot of worries, Jules Gounon (Sodi) 26th, Clement Martin (Swiss Hutless) 27th and John Barbe (Tecno) 28th.
The rain redoubled in violence during the break and there was lightning overhead. The presentation of the drivers was canceled, the drivers had to hold on to their tent in a dark paddock shaken by the winds.
