Britain’s Henry Easthope (Sodi) had a good day on Saturday at Sarno by crossing the finish line in front twice and finishing second in the other race. However, a jumped start was penalized and he found himself fifth in the unofficial yet serious standings. This is another British driver in the lead at the moment, Matthew Graham (Zanardi) with two wins and a sixth place due to a penalty when he won a heat. This bodes well for Graham’s chances to win, as he is second in the U18 World Championship. Dave Blom, the Dutch driver on an Intrepid in Formula K colors, is driving precisely and is second ahead of the Spaniard Jorge Vinolo Zalduegui (Tecno) and the Austrian Stefan Riener (Intrepid).
There has been a great performance from the Finn Tomi Katajamäki (Maranello), very often fastest, in sixth from Marco Maestranza (PCR) and Hubert Anthoine (Sodi), as fast as he was unlucky in heat one when his engine failed to start on the dummy grid. His fast performances give hope for great things on Sunday as he is ranked third in the championship. Pyry Ovaska, the interim leader, has not had the success expected and is a way off, in 16th, and needs to calmly consider the sequence of operations, unless he is planning to gamble on the second pre-final, with a reverse grid, to retain his rank.
