Marco Ardigo and Rick Dreezen (Tony Kart / Vortex) were again on the front row for final 2 in KZ1. Antonio Piccioni (Parolin / TM) and Patrik Hajek (Tony Kart / Vortex) were on second row. Penalized for the start in heat 1, the Intrepid Boys Bas Lammers and Jérémy Iglesias were relegated further and Beitske Visser was defending the colors of Praga and Intrepid in 5th position next to Armand Convers (Kosmic / Vortex).
Ardigo, Dreezen, Hajek, Convers, Visser, Piccioni, were the positions after the first lap. Dreezen took the lead when an investigation into the departure of Ardigo was announced. In 6th, Piccioni was the fastest on the track, followed closely by Lammers, Jorrit Pex, Davide Fore and Jonathan Thonon, all three on CRG / Maxter. Ardigo was penalized and was now 18th in the rankings despite his second place on the track. Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / Maxter) made a great recovery in 11th position.
Visser attacked Convers and took second place on the eighth of 20 laps. Piccioni, very fast, took Convers on the next lap. He then attacked him and took the second place from Visser.
With the widening gaps Ardigo’s position improved on the display, he was 12th and second on the track. Abbasse entered the top 10 in the wake of Thonon and Fore. Piccioni was now in the wake of Ardigo who he wanted to overtake even though paradoxically it would do nothing to change his position.
Rick Dreezen won a long-awaited victory from Antonio Piccioni, the fastest, and finally Beitske Visser was on the podium. Convers finished fourth, Lammers fifth, Hajek sixth, Fore seventh, Thonon 8th, Abbasse 9th and Ardigo 10th.
