Bas Lammers (Intrepid / TM) was the fastest at the start of heat A1 for KZ at Portimao on Saturday morning, while bright sunlight, and the wind cooled the track, so everyone is in good spirits. Kozlinski (CRG / Maxter) was in front and increased the pace. Armand Convers (Kosmic / Vortex), soon took 3rd place. The young Mirko Torsellini (CRG / Maxter) continued to make himself noticed, in the best sense, staying in the leading group in 4th place. Later, Jonathan Thonon (CRG / Maxter) was back in the top 5 and Beitske Visser (Intrepid / TM) defeated Yannick De Brabander (Parolin / TM) for the 6th. Lammers won ahead of Kozlinski and Convers.
Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) was given a polite grilling by his teammate Rick Dreezen from the B1 heat, while Jérémy Iglesias (Intrepid / TM) was wasting time on this occasion. Jorrit Pex (CRG / Maxter) moved into third before being attacked by Davide Fore (CRG / Maxter) at the end of the race. Sauro Cesetti (Birel / BMB), was 5th, indicating the BMB engine had made progress. Paolo De Conto (Energy / TM) did not get beyond the first lap, forced into the area around the track under the onslaught of his opponents. Iglesias was in 8th at the end after a lot of trouble. Dreezen won ahead of Ardigo and Fore.
