Fujitsu General (Aust.) have launched the most exciting young driver development program ever seen in Australia with the announcement of the Fujitsu ‘Cool’ Driver Program.
The ‘Cool’ driver program will commence in 2011 when Fujitsu will expand on its already comprehensive motorsport sponsorship presence with a staircase progression path covering Karting and Formula Ford. As a young driver looking for a professional career in motorsport you can apply for inclusion in the program via this website from 9am on January 5, 2011. Applications for the Fujitsu ‘Cool’ Driver Program will close at midnight (AEDST) on January 26, 2011.
Seven positions for Karters are on offer; with one driver from each State of Australia making up the Karting component of the Fujitsu ‘Cool’ Driver Program. Four positions for National Formula Ford competitors are on offer for drivers contesting the entire 2011 Australian Formula Ford Championship.
Inclusion in each of the two elements (Karting and Formula Ford) will be for the duration of 2011 before an end of year review will be conducted prior to the 2012 racing season. The successful candidates will receive lucrative ‘Cool’ Driver contracts to assist with their career development plans. In addition to a bonus payment scheme for winning results in major races and titles the best performing Karter will receive an opportunity to test with a National Formula Ford team, while the Formula Ford drivers will be competing for a V8 Supercar test with the Fujitsu sponsored Garry Rogers Motorsport operation.
An age limit for inclusion is in place and Karters will need to be aged from 12 years while the Formula Ford aspirants will need to beagedfrom 14years. A career development program will support inclusion in the Fujitsu ‘Cool’ Driver Program and will be facilitated by Velocity Management Group Pty Ltd.
