3rd in the Rotax Euro Challenge, the Belgian Maik Barten has led the way in the hotly contested Rotax DD2, where there was a maximum of overtaking due to the small differences between the drivers. Also evidence of the quality of the materials distributed by CRG, the performance of the Mojo tyres … and the drivers of course!
Six different drivers have won the six heats. Barten (1st overall), the Australian Jason Pringle (9th), the Lithuanian Simas Juodvirsis (2nd), the pole sitter Canadian Daniel Morad (20th after a retirement), the Australian Damian Ward (3rd) and the Estonian Georg Vann (4th) who managed a recovery.
Indecision reigns in this category, since the consitent New Zealander Matthew Hamilton (5th) or American Troy Castaneda (6th) need to be watched. For the French driver Damien Vuillaume, it looked good with two third places, but a clash in the third heat put him back to to 22nd place in the intermediate.
