Regularly at the front, Briton Luke Varley (Tony Kart / Vortex) took 2nd, 3rd and 1st and is at the top of the KF2 in Sharm El Sheik at the end of the qualifying heats. Michelle Gatting (CRG / Maxter) won the first 2 races, but her 5th place in the last race put her second. Ignazio D’Agosto (Tony Kart / Vortex) deftly took 3rd place. Jordon Lennox (Birel / BMB) finished up fourth and Karol Basz (RK / BMB) 5th.
The pole sitter, Belgian Sebastien Bailly (Kosmic / Vortex) lost out by crashing with Basz on the front row, which forced him to retire. Indeed, given the small number of drivers on the track the finishing order of the previous heat determined the starting grid for the next heat. 9th on the grid, Bailly however, shows great potential in the last race and remains in contention for the title. The Japanese Yu Kanamaru (Tony Kart / Vortex) had a lot of trouble and ended up 15th.
