At the American round of the WSK World Series, Beitske Visser put in excellent performances again. The second of the three rounds of the world series was held in New Jersey, on the very fast circuit of Millville, which is tailored made for the powerful 125 gearbox karts. Constantly fighting against more experienced drivers, Beitske proved that she has nothing to envy in terms of fighting spirit and conquered back her place in the top 5, after the technical problems she suffered in Portugal.
In the US, the young Dutch driver found the ideal environment to fully express her determination. Delayed breaking up to very limit, kerbs faced boldly at full gas and parts of the track on two wheels, astonishing overtaking manoeuvres in the fastest bends: Beitske made a real show that thrilled the crowd. 4th in timed qualifying, she kept her place after the qualifying heats, just behind the three best drivers of the moment, with equipment that still had a margin for improvement.
A difficult start in the pre-final with the veterans of the category forced her to play all her cards to remain in the leading pack. She began a long series of passes during her incredible catch-up race, with average times below 1 minute along the 1,700 m circuit, covered at an average speed of 100 km/h. But her tyres suffered the consequences of this battle in high afternoon temperatures: Beitske’s Intrepid/TM was not at the top of its form for the final. But that did not prevent her from performing at best to achieve the 5th final place upon arrival. Thanks to that result, Beitske could gain 6 places in the WSK World overall standings!
