Gaillard triumphs over Visser
After a perfect start in the 5th KZ2 heat, A against C, Beitske Visser (Intrepid / TM) was followed at some distance by Mathieu Gaillard (Energy / Maxter). Luca Tilloca (CRG / Maxter) had to hold off the threat of Cedric Goudant (Tony Kart / Vortex) to retain his third place. In 5th Jan Mirdla (Birel / TM) had to regain the second he had lost before attempting anything on the French driver. Joel Johansson (Energy / TM) retired after being pushed into the gravel trap on the first lap.
The gap had narrowed between Visser and Gaillard. The latter waited for the final lap to launch a carefully prepared attack. Disappointed, Visser did not see Tilloca coming to overtake under braking at the pylon. But this time she replied at the next corner, taking Tilloca at the entrance to the parabolica and finishing in second position behind the crafty Mathieu Gaillard. Cedric Goudant took a beautiful 4th place ahead of Alessandro Spenga (Intrepid / TM).
A third win for Lucati
Yuri Lucati (BRM / TM), moved into the lead of the KZ2 B / E heat, followed closely by Yan Pesce (Energy / TM). The very sudden departure of Theodore Zammit (PCR / Maxter) caused panic in the middle of the pack. Simone Brenna (TB Kart / TM) was well placed in 3rd place, Emilien Grosso (Intrepid / TM) in 4th.
Paolo De Conto (Energy / TM), 7th, had already recovered to 5th position and eventually passed Grosso. Brenna attempted to attack Pesce and tried something on Lucati as well, but the situation remained stable until the checkered flag was lowered by the race director, Joel Blanc, the third victory of the day for Lucati. Pesce was 2nd, Brenna 3rd, De Conto 4th, Lombard 5th and Grosso 6th.
