With Thonon / Lammers on the front row, the KZ final was promising, but the former had a healthy lead of 30 points in the championship which gave him a great chance to take the title before the end of the race. Thonon took the lead ahead of Renaudie, Dreezen and Lammers soon after the lights. Behind the quartet, the battle raged between Hanley, Gatto, De Conto, De Brabander and Abbasse …
Renaudie was overtaken by Dreezen and Lammers, Gatto lost places and Abbasse overcame De Brabander, then down in 9th position. Thonon was unable to escape by more than 3 / 10, and Lammers took Dreezen for second, not far ahead of Renaudie, and Hanley was still competitive. De Conto in KZ2 mingled with the fight in 7th position, while Visser was at the back after a bad start to the race. Another driver coming back strongly, Jérémy Iglesias was disgusted by his early retirement in the prefinal: he was 12th at halfway.
Meanwhile, Lammers found the opening on Dreezen and now led the chasing group to Thonon. All went well for the leader who increased his lead over second. The current fastest time was credited to Iglesias, in 10th. Visser retired at the bottom of the circuit while 9th. Thonon was jubilant in first place, 1.9” in front of Lammers.
Last lap. The positions did not change. Victory and title went to Thonon, Lammers was in second place, 3rd was Dreezen.
