Winner of the prefinal, Chris Lock choses to start on the outside as permitted by the regulations, an option that is rarely used. It was a good choice for Lock, who negotiated the first lap ahead of Karol Basz and Ignazio D’Agosto. Lennox was 4th, Sendin 5th, followed by Nortoft, Kanamaru, Guibbert, Moller-Madsen and De Ridder. Nortoft and De Ridder went off on the next lap, Gatting dropped to 24th, Guibbert was 28th.
Lennox attacked D’Agosto, then thechasing pack completely changed with Kanamaru 3rd, Moller Madsen 4th, Lennox 5th, Sendin 6th and D’Agosto 7th. Sami Luka soon passed D’Agosto. Lock was alone at the front of Basz, then a furious battle.
Lennox closed on Kanamaru (3rd) and Luka returned to challenge his team mate Moller-Madsen (5th). Sendin was defeated by D’Agosto and Barrabeig. Luka passed Moller-Madsen. Chris Lock made a gamble that enabled him to take the victory after dominating the race without exception.
Basz retained his second place despite the recovery of Kanamaru in third. Lennox was 4th, Luka 5th, D’Agosto 6th, Moller-Madsen 7th, Barabeig 8th, Sendin 9th and Giovinazzi 10th.
