This season, the WSK Euro Series has a special feature: it gathers drivers from both the KZ1 and KZ2 categories. All drivers have the same equipment, but organisers have decided to create two different standings, in order to separate the group of drivers with more experience and victories from the group of young drivers and amateurs.
Beitske Visser races in KZ2 because she is only 15 and this season marks her first time in the 125cc gearbox engine category, though she has taken the habit of duelling with drivers much more experience than she is.
At the recent Spanish meeting in Zuera, for example, the talented Dutch driver ended first in one heat in KZ2 and was fifth in the overall standings, doing better than several KZ1 drivers, including European Champion Roberto Toninelli. In the pre-final, she stood up to Anthony Abbasse, winner of the WSK KZ1 round in Lonato.
And in the final race, in addition to reaching the second step of the podium in KZ2, she was ahead, once again, of several KZ1 drivers. Definitely a sign of her speed, but also of her maturity.
