The 1st race of the World Championship went as expected by everyone. Apart from for the Olympian Hanley, the adhesion of the track was a major concern. And rightly so, since it was apparently very difficult to overtake without going off.
Ben Hanley (Maranello / Maxter) made a very good start, Aaro Vainio (Maranello / Maxter) infiltrated into 2nd position, but Brandon Maisano (LH / Maxter) rapidly recovered his place and Manuel Renaudie (Gillard / Parilla) followed in 3rd position. Behind Vainio in 4th, there was Armand Convers (Kosmic / Vortex), Davide Fore’ (CRG / Maxter) and Jonathan Thonon (CRG / Maxter).
Renaudie, who was fast, attempted to overtake Maïsano in a most effective way. Unfortunately, he was forced off the line, and paid dearly in Macau. Vainio took second place, and Convers third. Thonon passed Fore’ and the train reached the finish line with a well deserved victory for Hanley from Vainio, Convers, Maïsano and Renaudie. Aurelien Forgeron (Zanardi/Parilla) finished 13th from Gianni Gazzurelli (FA Kart / Vortex).
