The weather grew darker after lunch for the start of the second KZ1 heat. Bas Lammers (Intrepid / TM) and Jonathan Thonon (CRG / Maxter) started on the front row ahead of Davide Fore (CRG / Maxter) and Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex): the highest level of the sport is here!
Lammers retained his advantage on the 1st lap, but Thonon got him on the inside of the wide fast right hander on the second lap. Fore ‘was spun round with help from another competitor and was very far back down the field. On the 3rd lap Ardigo also took Lammers at the left hander hairpin. Jérémy Iglesias (Intrepid / TM) moved back into the top three.
Behind the quartet was Thomas Mich (Birel / TM) in 5th place, followed by Simo Puhakka (PCR / TM), Manu Renaudie (Gillard / SGM) and Alessandro Piccini (Intrepid / TM). Ardigo was pressured by Iglesias, Thonon and Lammers, with Lammers eventually taking Ardigo and starting to hunt down the leader. The tough Dutch driver grabbed the lead on the 11th lap and took his second victory of the day ahead of Thonon, Ardigo, Iglesias and Mich.
