The Parisian driver was magnificent in the rain which literally bathed the KZ2 final. While circumstances helped somewhat, it was unclear who would be able to challenge for the victory. Nato was unable to complete the formation lap and Anthony Abbasse went off at the start of the race, but Thomas Mich and his Birel / TM have already proved they fear no one in these conditions.
Morgan Weber (Birel / TM) found the right pace and stayed in the wake of the leader after passing Yannick Savard (CRG / Maxter) to shine in the rain. Pierre Etienne Chaumat (Energy / TM) surprised everyone by holding 3rd position for most of the race. We knew he was quick in the wet and the podium at Essay would have assured, but Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) was determined to prevent that from happening.
