In the European KF2 & KF3 qualifiers, the CRG Team saw its drivers conquer their place for the final phases, which will be held on 13 July at Zuera (E) for KF3 and 2 August at Essay (F) for KF2. The European qualifiers for the Central region, held on the Sosnova track (Czech Republic) are always a difficult test, even for very good drivers, because sometimes race accidents have a heavy influence on the final outcome. The «Road Rebel» chassis competitiveness allowed CRG drivers to reduce such risks and ensure their qualification for the rest of the European Championship.
In KF2, Niccolò Schiro confirmed the good shape shown on season debut by demonstrating great fighting spirit and confidence and playing a leading role in the event, before suffering the consequences of a series of accidents in the final. Crowned with the title of Super Rok Champion in 2008, Alessandro Vantini drove the CRG chassis for the first time, but brilliantly finished ninth in the ranking.
Race after race, in KF3, Polish Jakub Dalewski evolved from a promising driver to a real talent, with a nice 10th final place in this difficult qualifying phase. Rumanian Robert Visoiu also reached his objective and won the ticket for the final in Spain.
Giancarlo Tinini, CRG SpA Chairman, commented:
“What a weekend at Sosnova! I am very satisfied with the qualification of Schiro and Vantini in KF2, as well as with that of Dalewski and Visoiu in KF3. Schiro in particular has shown regular improvement, as demonstrated by his best time in Race 1. He still has little experience, since this is his first season in KF2, but he is improving quickly. Vantini showed good potential during the whole week, with a good race approach. Dalewski had a positive weekend and without that little mistake in Race 2, he could have achieved a very good result. Visoiu has very little experience, but he has already improved a lot. When I think about his debut in the WSK at Muro Leccese, this year, I found it hard to believe he has done so much today!
For CRG, it is now time to get ready for the Super KF World Cup at Suzuka, and then for the fourth WSK round at Genk”.
