The qualifying heats in KF2 delivered their verdict on the track at Angerville: Rule Britannia! There were ten British drivers among the top 13, Jordon Lennox-Lamb (Topkart / Parilla) at the front. Fortunately Paul-Loup Chatin (Tony Kart / Vortex) took his place on the front row with gusto and consistency. Chris Lock (Tony Kart / Vortex), who will celebrate his 22nd birthday tomorrow, took 3rd position, while Freddy Martins (Merlin / Parilla) took a magnificent 4th position, surprising given his lack of competition this year.
Laura Tillett (Gillard / Parilla) was very competitive in all of the heats and secured 5th from Mackenzie Taylor (FA Kart / Vortex) and Brandon Maisano (Intrepid / TM) who had 3 wins, but was penalized by an engine failure while leading the race. The driver from Action-Intrepid France certaibbly remains a competitor. After the difficult time suffered by Reguillon (24th), Jimmy Antunès was the first Sodi in 15th. The only official CRG driver, the Spaniard Toni Alarcon was fast, but after he retired from a race he was back in 18th place.
Qualification was borderline for Guillaume Barbarin and Vincent Fraïsse, the latter getting in by a very small margin…
The first non-qualifier was not a stranger, Alexander Lynn. He opened a long list of drivers who were most unfortunate in the many fights that punctuated the races this Saturday, with skirmishes at almost every start, and a strange lack of reaction from the Stewards.
