The Spaniards struck hard from the outset at Angerville: there were 7 Iberian pilots in the first 7 places, sapping the morale of the competition! Carlos Sainz (Tony Kart / Vortex) posted the fastest time in the first session with 50”650 and observed his opponents from the trackside afterwards. Second was new international driver Pedro Hiltbrand (FA Kart / Vortex) and 3rd was Adrian Del Rio (PCR / TM). Britain’s Alexander Albon (Tony Kart / TM) took 8th place and Mathieu Jaminet (Intrepid / TM) performed best for France.
In great shape was Victor Sendin (Birel / TM) in 15th, for once at an advantage over his teammate fast Enzo Guibbert, in 16th. John Fillipi (Tony Kart / Vortex) qualified in 18th position ahead of Pierre Gasly (Sodi / Parilla) and Pascal Belmaaziz (Intrepid / TM). Alex Baron (Tony Kart / Vortex) was a little disappointed with 24th, just ahead of Rémy Deguffroy (Tony Kart / Vortex). But that’s nothing compared to the poor performance of the Swiss Michael Heche (Intrepid / VKR), 52nd and last under the dark eyes of Mauro Villa.
