Britain’s Chris Lock (Tony Kart / Vortex) has achieved the highest score possible in 4 qualifying heats in KF2: 4 wins! Behind him, his opponents have had mixed fortunes. Michal Fousek (Maranello / Maxter) has done the best with 15 points. The second row for the pre-final is likely to be competitive with Matteo Viganò (Birel / Parilla) and Mans Grenhagen (Energy / TM).
But several very good drivers have had to revise their plans after having problems in one or two races. Karol Basz (RK / Parilla) is 6th, Joel Johansson (Energy / TM) 9th despite his 2 wins, Nicolaj Moller-Madsen (Energy / TM) 13th and Brandon Maisano (Intrepid / TM) 14th, although each won a heat. Sami Luka is only on 25th after a retirement before the start of a race. Guillaume De Ridder qualified 28th and last.
The repechage will be tense because of the level of the drivers who failed to go straight through, and the condition of the track which could quickly go from slippery to wet. Taylor, Ghirelli, Giovinazzi, Wiman, … will try everything to reach the final.
