The 32-lap Super Final lived up to its name: it was fascinating to follow, with exciting commentary by Yanek. Aaro Vainio (Maranello / Maxter) saw an opportunity for himself, in front of his comrades Sauro Cesetti (Birel / Parilla), Libor Toman (Birel / Parilla), Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Tom Grice (Birel / Parilla). It was a good idea for the young Finn: his opponents were left fighting between themselves.
Toman attacked Cesetti and moved into second position, Grice passed Ardig oto join his two teammates. Yannick De Brabander (Intrepid / TM) was not satisfied to play second fiddle and was quick to dig at his friends in the leading group. Although it wasn’t really a group any more, since Vainio and Toman decided to unleash their speed and race amongst themselves much further ahead.
There was also good racing down in in the pack. Jonathan Thonon (CRG / Maxter) got rid of Oliver Rowland (LH / Maxter), Arnaud Kozlinski (CRG / Maxter) played a long game, accompanied by his compatriot Manu Renaudie (Gillard / Parilla). Things started to heat up on lap 10: De Brabander took Cesetti, Grice passed Ardigo who also moved up a position, Kozlinski moved into the top 10 and finally, Toman took the advantage from Vainio for the lead. De Brabander overcame Ardigo a few laps later, into 4th.
In mid race, the leaders were Toman, Vainio anf Grice. De Brabander was 4th ahead of Ardigo, then Cesetti and Thonon, while Koko and Manu were perilously close to their opponents. De Brabander did not stop there, he took third position, but his engine had a problem he had to retire. The 2 leaders got away. Renaudie overtook Koko before they joined a group comprised of Grice, Cesetti, Ardigo and Thonon.
The pace of events then accelerated. Cesetti soon got back in front of Ardigo, Renaudie and Kozlinski got in front of Thonon, and Fore moved out of the anonymity of the pack. Ardigo lost more ground when the infernal French duo of Manu and Koko stole his place. Fore took advantage of this too.
The end of the race was now imminent. Armand Convers, after expending a lot of effort, was knocking on the doors of the top 10. However, there was drama almost at the finish line between Thonon, Ardigo, and Armand who finished 18th despite a very bent axle. It was a great victory for the Czech driver Toman, Vainio was not bad in second, Cesetti took a good third for Birel, Renaudie in 4th drove a fantastic race, Kozlinski was fifth after an unforgettable race and Fore was 6th, successfully completing the return to form for CRG.
