Sodikart returned to competition at the Winter Cup, recently held in Lonato. After a lot of bad weather, which disrupted the winter test sessions, this important classic meeting in Italy was a good opportunity for a test under real conditions. As expected, the lack of driving practice took a toll on the team, but the performances of the ST 30 and ST 32 chassis are very promising for the future.
“We had a chance to drive in interesting conditions for the development of our equipment”, said the new team manager, Nicola De Cola. In a race with a level comparable to that of a world championship, Loïc Réguillon set very good times, after timed practice and the qualification of young Jimmy Antunès for his first race in KF2, with a 16th (and very promising) place in the final. The debuts in KF3 of Pierre Gasly, a kartman from Normandy, are excellent for a driver who comes straight from the “Cadet” category: he managed well the transition to “soft” tyres!”
Though aware of the amount of work still needed, the Sodi team is confident and looking forward to the Margutti Trophy, when its drivers will race in KZ (there will be 4 of them at Castelletto), plus Antunès in KF2 and Hélias in KF3. Then there will be the GPO launching at Angerville, with the team in full force.
