Even though Nyck De Vries tried to stay on full throttle out of the first turn to keep the advantage of the front row and avoid the risk of fouling, at the first corner, the pilot Zanardi was forced out wide and visited the grass alongside the track, losing a few places. Danil Kvyat (Tony Kart / Vortex) took the opportunity to replay the scenario that gave him the pre-final victory: he wasalone, far ahead of the others.
But history did not repeat itself, for once … De Vries immediately started to chase down and pass Raffaelle Marciello and Riccardo Agostini successively, who were suddenly slower. Before mid race you could believe he would be able to bridge the wide gap that separated him from Kvyat. He did it on the 11th lap. Constantly fighting, the German driver Lucas Wolf (Energy / VKR) ensured the the 3rd place at the expense of Marciello. The youngest Briton Alexander Albon (Tony Kart / TM) also convinced the observers by taking 4th place: it is no coincidence that his colors are now officially Red Bull … Andreas Wernersson, the Swedish driver at PDB took 5th position ahead of the Frenchman Mathieu Jaminet (Intrepid / TM), quite convincingly.
