… Now that we have completed the tour of all production units, we still need to understand how all this is conceived and tested before production. First of all, it is the technical department that launches projects. In a relaxed atmosphere, engineers work in front of their computers. They work in two teams: one is in charge of product design and the other deals with product industrialisation, with about a dozen people working on different projects. Discretion is fundamental in this department, But it is nothing compared to what happens in the R&D department, a sort of future lab where one can see a part of the creativity resources of the company. It is difficult to talk about it without unveiling some secrets… But we can say that the team comprises 12 people, with a balanced mix of engineers and experienced technicians. A lot of work focuses on size and on the design of tools and machines to be used at Sodikart; moreover, prototypes are realised and some strange tests are performed. Regardless of whether karts are made for rent or competition, it all goes through the R&D department, a fascinating place.
