The temperature was already high when the KF2 drivers went out for their timed practice at Sarno. The sky was blue, but clouds began to gather at the nearby summit of Vesuvius.
As the leader of a session that was generally faster than the other two, James Thorp (Maranello / Maxter) posted the absolute fastest time with 1’06”224. The Polish driver Karol Basz (Birel / Parilla) took the second position and Andrea Dalè (CRG / Maxter) third. Then it was Tony Kart with Timmy Hansen, Flavio Camponeschi, Petri Suvanto (fastest in his session) and Mario Schettino. Felice Tiene (CRG / Maxter) was the fastest in the second session, but only eighth overall.
Matteo Vigano (Zanardi / Parilla) was 13th, Giacomo Patrono (Birel / TM) 15th, Sebastien Bailly (TonyKart / Vortex) 16th. Tom Grice was 18th, Aniello Smarrazzo 20th, Giaguaro Nero 21st, Sami Luka 24th. Alban Authié was 27th ahead of Jack Harvey and Oliver Rowland. Still further back, Robin Frijns was 41st, while Zoel Amberg and Joel Johansson weren’t credited with a time.
