After a brilliant carrier in karting, Tomas Pivoda is determined to continue his racing carrier in prestigious Formula Masters Championship, organised in partnership with Eurosport network. This young and promising Czech pilot has a lot of expectations from his debut with single seaters…
Over the last few years, Tomas Pivoda has shown constant and remarkable improvement. Fast and brilliant in his home country, it hasn’t taken long for Tomas to enter the most prestigious international competitions. In 2006, he obtained many excellent results in Junior category. 10th in the Winter Cup in Italy – the grand classic of season debut – he has frequently reached top positions in WSK (Winning Series Karting), on the most beautiful circuits in Europe.
His improvement curve accelerated in 2007, in KF2 category (the first step to the top category). In a very hard fought competition, he ranked 7th in International Open Masters and reached his first high level podium. He showed his talent once again in the European Championship, finishing 11th after a very exciting recovery. This is how he won the ticket to the World Cup, where he brilliantly reached the final phase. Although just 16, Tomas is ready to move towards new horizons. His country and his Federation are well aware of his talent and his brilliant results; indeed, they gave him the Best Czech Pilot Award in 2007!
“On season debut, I wanted to race a last season in high level karting, in KF1, and start training for my debut in car racing” said Tomas. “But over the last few weeks, the situation has changed”. The Czech pilot, who races for Maranello Team, has not always won in karting, while his first tests in Formula Masters have been very promising. “The idea of racing in the international single seater series from this season motivates a lot” Tomas added. “I have recently joined AR Motorsport Team, with which I have achieved remarkable improvement during recent tests. Our objective for this season is to continue racing at the top, in order to be ready to compete with leaders in 2009 Championship. Therefore, I am going to attend all official competitions and my first races will be in Italy. It is a very exciting challenge”.
Recently created Formula Masters is held on the most prestigious circuits in Europe, in the framework of WTCC (World Touring Car Championship) events, and receives wide media coverage thanks to frequent broadcasts on Eurosport International. This very competitive formula will certainly open new horizons for Tomas Pivoda and his career as a racing car pilot.
