The rain couldn’t decide, whether to get heavy, or to stop on the international circuit at Sarno. For their second heat, the KF1 drivers were of course shod with wet tires, as the track was still very wet in places, but the selection of the pressures would not be easy for the mechanics.
Sébastien Bailly (Kosmic / Vortex) led on the first lap ahead of Ignazio D’Agosto, Chris Lock and Flavio Camponeschi, all three on Tony Kart / Vortex. Alexander Albon (Intrepid / TM) was fifth, but Nyck De Vries (Zanardi / Parilla) was severely disrupted at the bottom end of the circuit and was in 20th position. Finland’s Teemu Suninen (Maranello / Maranello) who won the Winter Cup in the rain, was back up to 5th position.
Lock passed Bailly and took command. Alex Baron (Sodi / Parilla) dropped back to 13th, followed by De Vries and Karol Basz (RK / BMB). Suninen threatened Albon and passed him, but the British driver replied. Matias Köykkä (CRG / Maxter) appeared in the top 10, behind eighth placed Zdenek Groman (Kosmic / Vortex). Bailly had not abandoned the idea of ??victory and approached Lock.
Victory went to Sébastien Bailly ahead of Lock after a great fight on the last lap. D’Agosto finished 3rd ahead of Albon, Suninen and Groman. Baron completed a superb run to 9th, De Vries to 13th just ahead of Camponeschi Basz and 16th.
