The sun came out faster than expected in Lonato, but the track was still slippery enough for the decision whether to use slick tyres not to arise for the KF-Junior Prefinal. Bent Viscaal (Tony Kart / Parilla) took fourth followed by Clement Novalak (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Nikita Volegov (Tony Kart / Parilla). There was a good start in the pack for Charles Milesi (Tony Kart / Vortex) who had already regained seven places, while Tom Leuillet (BirelART / Parilla) moved up to 18th before retiring on lap 5. Jean-Baptiste Simmenauer (Tony Kart / Vortex) followed Rasmus Lindh (Ricciardo / Parilla) close to the top 10.
Sargeant, Lundgaard and Yue Yang were together in front of the race until Yue Yang attacked Lundgaard on lap 8, which allowed Sargeant to gain more of a lead. The order didn’t change after that, although Yue Yang finished strongly behind the winner, Sargeant. Lundgaard was 3rd, Viscaal 4th, Volegov 5th then Novalak. Felipe Drugovich (Kosmic / Vortex) moved up 12 places to 11th position, ahead of Marta Garcia (PCR / TM) and Milesi in 13th. Rising 16 places to 15th was Lucas Légeret (BirelART / Parilla) who finished ahead of Simmenauer.
