The temperature already reached 30° for the start of the Final of the FIA ??Karting European Championship for OK at Essay. Dexter Patterson (KR / Parilla) kept the lead when the lights went out ahead of Harry Thompson (FA Kart / Vortex) and Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart / Vortex). Kas Haverkort (CRG / TM) and Luigi Coluccio (Birel ART / TM) completed this initial top five. A collision occurred at the second hairpin and several favourites like Janker, Stanek, Travisanutto and Michelotto did not complete the first lap.
Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / TM), who started 34th, was 17th after only four laps, while Franck Chappard (Redspeed / Parilla) made the same progression up to 13th. David Vidales (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Andrea Rosso (CRG / TM) were added to the drop-out list. Patterson had escaped by more than two seconds ahead of Thompson and Nielsen. Chappard gave up on the 13th lap. After Haverkort, Hiltbrand also gave up with eight laps to go. Behind Patterson, the fighting group was animated by Bradshaw who took 4th, taking advantage of a missed move by Coluccio who was 5th ahead of Zane Maloney (FA Kart / Vortex). But Bradshaw dropped down again to 6th.
Patterson finished an overwhelming 6.6” ahead of Thompson, himself 2” ahead of Nielsen and Coluccio. Evan Spenle (Kosmic / Parilla) scored the best French performance with a gain of 16 places in 17th position. In the Championship, Janker (77 pts) was titled despite his retirement, ahead of Thompson (64 pts) and Hiltbrand (58 pts), with Maloney 4th and Valtanen 5th.
